This 35'x35' 2 story shell of a ruined mill was once a 3 story fieldstone and frame gristmill that was supplied by water from Rockaway Creek via a 1 foot diameter wooden stave pipe (penstock) to an overshot wheel. It ground grain for Washington's Army during the revolution and operated until 1930. From 1930-1956, it generated electical power for a nearby quarry
