Pictures by: Jim Miller    11/08/1987 -  In 1987, the 3.5 story fieldstone mill was deserted, but structurally sound with a good roof.  The 50'x65' mill was built in 1818 by Philip Von Nieda who had owned the previous mill since 1806.

Pictures by: Merrill Miller    09/1983 -  Tax records show George Shop, Jonathan Shup, and John Shoup (Sharp)  owned mills from 1750 thru 1779.  The last names are all probably derivations of the same family name.

Directions: Go 1 mile west on Pa 272 from the center of Adamstown, turn left onto Pa 897 (E Swartzville Rd.) and travel just short of 1 mile, turning sharply left onto Willow SWt. Mill is on the left.
