 The original mill was built in a canyon above the town of Manti in 1853, utilizing a 16'overshot waterwheel that powered the buhrstones.

  This particular mill was destroyed and the miller killed by Indians in the Walker Indian War.  Any equipment not burned in the mills destruction in 1897 was moved to the Manti Fort, a fortified nine block section of Manti, Utah

Directions: From I-15 south in Salt Lake City, take US89 exit south. Follow US89 south and east through town to S.100 East St. and continue east as SR186 changes to E. 5th South St. and then Foothill Drive. Turn left off Foothill Dr./SR186 onto Sunnyside Ave. and follow the signs to This Is The Place Heritage Park. Admission charged.
