The Red Bird mill is a quaint little weathered board mill of 2.5 stories measuring about 25'X 30'. An addition of 1.5 stories frame with a slanted roof is attached to the north side.
The lower front door of the mill, which closed all operations in the 1940's and the equipment removed.
The mill is now used for storage by the mill owner as of 1990, Arthur Devault, who lives next door to the mill.
The building has weathered the ravages of time and the elements remarkably well since 1940. Some retoration is necessary for it to still be around in another ten years.

Take Mo 28 east of Bland, Mo for one mile, turn right on SH B, and go 8 miles south to Red Bird Rd. (CR 639). Turn left, go one mile on gravel road to community of Red Bird. The mill is at the junction of Red Bird Rd. and Gorrel Rd. in Red Bird. |
