 Since 1810, David McKinney's Red Mill has processed flaxseed (linseed oil), talc, graphite, wool, and livestock feed using a 14' waterwheel. An earlier mill dates to 1763.  The current mill ceased operations in 1928.  The 2.5 story frame mill on a 1 story fieldstone foundation has been converted into a working museum.

The 50'X 60' mill has been placed on the National Register of Historic Places and admission is charged to cover the restoration, maintainance, and operation of the facility. Directions: Exit I-78/ US 22 using exit 15 onto W. Main St./Old US 22 at the west edge of Clinton, N.J. Go 1.5 miles and turn left on Main St. and again on Quarry Road. The mill complex is the reason for Quarry Rd.
