This large 65'X 65' stone/stucco mill of 3.5 stories had an builtin portion, the closest part on the photo, that was a sawmill. A blacksmith shop and threshing barn sit across from the mill. Built in 1862 by Josiah Eggar, the mill and miller's house comprise what is left of what in the 1700's was Slabtown.

Slabtown consisted of mostly buildings cheaply built from slab lumber. Most of this information came from the resident of the miller's house, Rudolph Barta. He lived in the area all his life and if I would have had more time, I would have gleaned a lot more info. from him.
