An unnamed water powered saw mill was on this site since before 1824. It was George Weidler's Saw Mill in 1864, and W.W.Winter's Saw Mill in 1875. Harry Stauffer built 2.5 story, 40'X 50' new corn (grain) mill on the saw mill site in 1900.
In 1905, Harry and Elias Stauffer rebuilt the mill to its present size, 2.5 story and 32'X 40' dimensions named it Cedar Run Mill. William Myers operated in 1925 and closed it in 1926.
