Pictures by: Robert T. Kinsey    11/11/2005 -  A mill built in or about 1750 by Scotch-Irish settler, Joseph Kennedy.  The 35'X 45' 2 story stone with 1.5 story frame mill is powered by a 21' overshot wheel.  The mill is on the National Register of Historic Places and is still grinding quality flours today.  The original name of the creek was Capt. Joseph Kennedy's Mill Creek.

Directions: About 30-35 miles south of Staunton, Va. on Va 252 to junction left with Sh 606. Go 1 mile on Sh 606, turning left on Sh 816/Kennedy-Wade Mill Loop. The mill is along the 1/3 mile loop by Otts Creek.
