Pictures by: Hugh Allen pre 1986 - Tanner's Mill, built c. 1835 by Mose Tanner, was non-operating in 1981 featuring a pitchback wheel. The frame 2.5 story mill about 30'X 40' included a 15'X 40' one story frame addition. The mill was burned by vandals in 1986 and nothing remains of the mill at the site today.

Directions: Go south from Gainsville on Sh 60 for 12-13 miles, turn right on Sh 211/Tanner's Mill Road, go 2 miles and turn right on Tanner's Mill Circle. The mill site is 0.3 miles ahead at Walnut Creek.
