Pictures by: Jim Miller 09/26/2006 - Reinforcement rod caps on the ends of the rods that runs through the flooring of the mill to the opposing outer wall, where it has a similar cap or keeper. These keepers seem to be small steel gears that were welded to the ends of the rods. The rods themselves help to provide extra strength for the mill walls to bear the heavy weight required of them.

Pictures by: Jim Miller 09/26/2006 - The sun was close to setting as these photos were taken. A very nice early Mormon stone mill that actually looks older than its years, partly because of its rustic location, and partly due to the more primitive, but sturdy, style of contruction.
