The 3.5 story grist mill is smack up against NJ 29 so that the front of the mills two upper floors/doors are even with the road level. In very good shape. The mill is of fieldstone except the front gable end which is white clapboard. Stone miller's house, c.1739 is a few hundred feet away on the 13 acre estate. The mill was rebuilt and enlarged by L. T. Comly in 1847.
Jacob's Creek runs between the mill and CR 637 as it traverses another eighth or quarter of a mile to the Delaware River. The mill Has 30" thick stone walls and contains the original millstones and some other milling equipment. A milldam upstream provided water to the raceway for the mill.
***UPDATE Phil Robbins, new owner. 02/01/05*** The mill is now used as studio space for artists and crafts people. One space is currently available. Mr. Robbins can be contacted through his website above. Photo by Phil Robbins January 29, 2005.
